The Consultant Engineer is one of the most important actors of FIDIC contracts, being presented as an independent and impartial authority, having a wide role, similar to the project manager one.
He/she represents the Beneficiary directly and has the status of an authentic mediator and decision-maker for litigations, underlying each action based on the contract he/she works with.
The Consultant Engineer surveys and manages works closely and has the vision and ability to adjust the project, if necessary, in order to bring it to a successful conclusion in accordance with contractual conditions.
Being organized, the Consultant Engineer permanently knows the actual level of the project and can offer technical or economical solutions, when imposed by the situation.
His/her activity is supported by solid ethical principles, allowing him/her to remain impartial and dedicated to project objectives.
All these complex roles and qualities assigned to the Consultant Engineer by FIDIC require experience in the activity field and good acquaintance with the structure and conditions provided in the contract forms.
