Environment and Environmental Protection

The variety of environmental challenges and problems motivates us to involve in developing innovative strategies for protecting the natural framework and the corresponding resources.

The protection of natural habitats, the control and limitation of the pollution effects upon soil, water and air, the waste management, the modern provision of safe water for communities, the prevention of natural calamities and the reduction of the effects produced by them are the base marks of the environmental engineering that we develop at
KONSENT.

Water is a precious resource, indispensable to life, industry and agriculture; however, its quality and quantity are threatened by an entire palette of factors.

The pollution, the climate changes, the population increase and the communities re-dimensioning, the infrastructure degradation are elements requiring elaborated strategies of water management, starting from the source and up to household and industrial supply.

WATER AND SEWER NETWORKS EXTENSION AND MODERNIZATION

A modern water infrastructure directly improves the quality of life and contributes to the prosperity of the population and industry.

We sustain the need for supply and collection systems that that are modern, efficient, correlated with the needs of the communities served and of the specificity of the natural environment where they are built.

We involve in extending and modernizing water and sewer networks, form planning stage up to supervision stage, identify the vulnerability of the existing infrastructure and ensure better efficacy of this process.

BUILDING AND MODERNIZING DRINKING WATER TREATMENT STATIONS

Sure water represents a commitment for protecting public health.
Accentuated pollution, increase of consumer numbers, limited funds represent challenges that request complex and performance solutions for water control and treatment, at affordable costs.

We plan and manage projects to build, modernize and extend the capacity for drinking water treatment and distribution, compatible with beneficiaries’ needs and responsible with natural environment.

BUILDING AND MODERNIZING WASTEWATER TREATMENT STATIONS

Wastewater treatment is an elaborated process, aiming at transforming the wastewater originating in the sewer systems into water that can be discharged safely, without causing prejudices to natural environment or public health.

We assist projects for modernizing ecological, performance and innovative wastewater treatment stations, where water is treated according to environmental legislation in force and it can come back to nature in a safe way.

WATER SOURCES AND RESOURCES

The water supply for population is indissolubly connected to the continuity of water sources and resources and to maintaining their quality and quantity factors.

We identify, evaluate and value the surface sources and groundwater, designing functional, efficient, modern and financially affordable systems.

At the same time, we are committed to protecting natural water sources, closely analysing the way they are affected by atrophic activity and offering adequate solutions that are efficient for long term.

WATER MANAGEMENT

By fully understanding the complexity of the water cycle in nature and the climate changes, and by anticipating necessities and problems, we involve in projects related to a variety of water management problems:

  • the management of water resources, in order to ensure continuity and quality;
  • improving the quality and safety of the water adduction infrastructure;
  • the design and management of water adduction networks;
  • the management of the process and treatment systems for drinking water and for wastewater;
  • managing storm waters;
  • assistance in land improvements;
  • strategies for flood prevention;
  • building hydro-technical constructions having various destinations;
  • the evaluation and exploitation of the hydro-electrical potential of water courses.

WATER FOR INDUSTRY

In order to be able to sustain economic performance and at the same time to reduce risks for natural environment, the industrial actors need adequate strategies for industrial water management.

The use of new industrial pollutants, the need to extend operations, the occurrence of new regulations in the ecologic field represent actual challenges.

We design and assist projects to prevent pollution caused by safely processing industrial waters, minimizing waste and modernizing treatment systems.

FLOODS

The accentuated climate changes cause changes of the precipitation patterns and occurrence of extreme meteorological phenomena – floods, storms.

We elaborate and assist the implementation of the strategies for preventing floods and reducing their impact upon natural environment and material damages produced to communities, by means of risk analyses and closely related to the national strategy in the field.

COAST EROSION

By understanding the way the coast processes operate (natural factors that shape the sea coast, sediment settling and transportation, current erosion rates, key-points), we involve in projects for protecting and rehabilitating the coast area, in order to increase population safety and to contribute to tourist and economic development.

We consider that the initiatives to strategically value waste along the entire cycle represent an opportunity to compensate the resource deficit and to limit the impact upon environment.

The waste management is a global interest matter; the circuit of products in nature and the pace of their deterioration need that the route covered after the termination of the standard life cycle should be rethought.

BUILDING STATIONS FOR COLLECTING, SORTING, TREATING AND STORING WASTE

We offer solutions for the complete management of waste, encouraging its reduction right at the source, in order to maximize the subsequent recycling capacity, to optimize costs for its collection and disposal and to limit loss.

We design and supervise the building of the stations for collecting, separating, transporting, storing, treating and recycling waste, depending on its type (civil, industrial, at high risk), in order to value it as raw material or energetic resource.

DISMANTLING COLLECTING STATIONS THAT DO NOT FULFIL ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS IMPOSED BY EU

The practices for waste mixed collection do not comply with the environmental legislation applicable to EU states, providing selective collection and recycling for at least 50% of its total mass.

We support the process for dismantling the collection centres that do not comply with European ecological norms.

We involve in wide projects aimed at protecting biodiversity and important habitats and at sustainable use of non-renewable resources as well.

The protection of the natural environment and of its resources and the cease of their degradation as well represent a necessity and a collective responsibility at the same time.

We encourage sustainable management, capable to support the preservation of the natural patrimony of protected sites within the Natura 2000 network and of other important ecological areas as well.

Minimizing carbon emissions into the atmosphere is an important component of the pollution mitigation policy.

The emissions generated by district heating plants represent a major source for air pollution. Minimizing them is an objective that we can reach, by means of solutions ensuring energetic efficiencies and protecting air quality, out of consideration for environment and inhabitants.

We develop projects to rehabilitate sites contaminated by a variety of polluting substances, settling ponds and sterile dump, considering sustainable development.

The historically polluted areas are a consequence of accentuated industrialization, which resulted in many areas being affected by persistent pollutants, with high risk level for environment and population.
